  The READ TO ME program gets mothers
to read books to their babies. Although the main model focuses on
teen moms, it is easily adaptable to other populations and settings.
READ TO ME is inexpensive, nondidactic, and pleasurable. By reading
picture books to their babies, parents potentially avoid conflicts,
become aware of their babies' emotional lives and receive some compensation
for their own unresolved issues. It's also fun. |
